Ed L. Hamilton
Trustee Ed L. Hamilton, PharmD, FAPhA
Ed earned his BS in Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of Florida. He has been actively involved in serving
the profession of Pharmacy for over 35 years. Ed has served as President of the Florida Pharmacy Association, Speaker of the House and
President of the FPA Foundation. During his time as the FPA Foundation President the Foundation’s first scholarship was established.
He served for ten years on the Board of Trustees of the American Pharmacists Association and also served as President of APhA,
representing more than 63,000 practicing pharmacists, student pharmacists and Pharmaceutical Scientists in all practice settings.
Ed was the second Pharmacists from the state of Florida tohave the honor of serving as President of APhA since 1852. Dr Hamilton
also served for six years on the APhA Foundation Board of Directors including two terms as President. Ed has also served as President
of the UF COP Alumni and Chairman of the Board of the UF COP Dean’s Leadership Council. He has been recognized as the FPA Florida
Pharmacist of the Year, and also the FSHP Pharmacist of the Year. He was also recognized as an APhA Fellow. He has been honored as
a recipient of the Bowl of Hygeia Award, the FPA/IPA Inspiration and Motivation Award, and the University of Florida Distinguished Alumnus Award.
Ed and his wife Ann enjoy playing golf, riding bicycles, travel and spending time with family.
