Tallahassee, FL– January 29, 2018 –
Matthew Noble is the recipient of the 2018 Terry Gubbins Student Leadership Award. This prestigious award recognizes Matthew’s involvement in FPA, involvement in school and community activities, and his demonstrated sense of passion to the profession. Matthew is in his third year at the University of South Florida College of Florida, and currently serves as the APhA-ASP President.
Matthew has been extensively involved with the Florida Pharmacy Association, organizing and participating in multiple association events including FPA Legislative Days, Presidential Debates, Annual Meetings, and Council leadership duties. Matt’s leadership has been recognized at the school level and he was inducted into Phi Lambda Sigma (PLS), which is the National Pharmacy Leadership society. Within this leadership organization, Matt works on the leadership development committee.
Matt has attended countless health fairs where students screen patients in the community and educate them on how they can maintain their health. Some examples of this include Third Friday at Safety Harbor and Healthy Halloween. At these functions, students partner with Main Street Pharmacy and conduct routine health screens.
The Terry Gubbins Student Leadership award, established in 2014 by Terry Gubbins, former FPA Chairman of the Board, recognizes and celebrates outstanding leadership through school activities, public service and community as well as professional involvement. The Terry Gubbins Student Leadership Scholarship is given once a year at the Florida Pharmacists Legislative Days where the recipient is recognized with a $1,000 check and an award.
